I Give Up!

Yeah we all feel this way from time to time, some more often than not. This broken world has a lot of pain, suffering and unjust things that take place every day. Surly you have heard of Murphy's law, "If anything bad can happen, it will happen." The truth is that bad things will happen whether they are highly potential or not. Why? We live in a world where bad things happen. This world is broke and people and/or humans are trying to take control of every aspect they can. Selfishness is rewarded and often coveted by others when it pays off but we are all quick to lay blame and offer an "I told you so" when it doesn't all the while being just as selfish ourselves. What is the problem? We are trying to take control!

Perhaps you have a host of friends or even family (a foreign concept to some) going through tough times. It feels so lame to offer prayer when in your heart, you have already determined the end result. Nothing is left now but to worry about it all and be depressed over the impending doom and fate we will all and our children will some day suffer. What can we do? Stop trying to take control!

My wife has a t-shirt that she will not wear out of the house that reads, "There is a God and you are not Him." This message couldn't be anymore true but we constantly think we can handle things on our own. We work our fingers to the bone pursuing things that will be put on a shelf or be destroyed in future years. We, We, We, I, I, I, has become a way of life for most of us. What am I getting at with all of this? Nothing, not I but God is in control and until we learn to be the backup vocals and not the lead singer, our band will never sound good.

So don't wait till you get to the end of yourself. Give up now! I give up God, I will just take care of the background stuff and realize that you are in control of this world and there is nothing I can do about it but accept you are in control. I give up.
